Instead of a book review this week, I’m doing the daily topic: If you had to debate a younger version of yourself, who would win?
For starters, I would like to debate with my nine-year-old self, and that was about six years ago. So we have fifteen-year-old Cynthia vs. nine-year-old Cynthia. Who wins the debate would probably depend on what we’re debating about.
If we’re debating about fun things we’ve done in school, nine-year-old me would win, because the fourth-grade was more fun than the ninth. If the topic was something totally random, like recycling, fifteen-year-old me would win because I’m on Green Team at school, and back then I didn’t really care about recycling. But since I learned a lot about it through Green Team, fifteen-year-old me would win.
Some topics we’d have a tie about. Reading, in particular. Back then I loved to read, and I still love to read. I just read different books now. I used to only read realistic fiction, but now I read romance and fantasy, along with the realistic fiction. My reading genre has expanded as I got older; I enjoy Shakespeare, when in the past, I used to groan whenever someone mentioned his name. Now, I love Romeo and Juliet, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
I decided to do this topic because I love to argue. And if I’m arguing with someone and they’re right, I usually tell them to shut up.
Next update will be on April 29th.
