These are my top five fave books, in no particular order, and the reason(s) for liking each one.
Alice McKinley Series by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor
I’ve liked these books for about five years now. I really like the books because Alice’s brother Lester usually has sarcastic answers to Alice’s questions.
Change Of Heart by Jodi Picoult
I like this book because it teaches about the death penalty. I also liked the cardiac information in the book, and the character of Claire Nealon. I just wish Jodi could’ve written a chapter or two from Shay’s (the murder’s) point of view.
Immortals Series by Alyson Noël
I like this series because I like supernatural books. I like the narrator, Ever—well, until the third book, but that’s beside the point,—and all the supernatural powers in the book—mind reading, telling the future, aura seeing, ghost spotting—was very interesting.
Riley Bloom Series by Alyson Noël
I like this series because of Riley’s character. She’s a sarcastic, outspoken twelve-year-old ghost trying to survive in the afterlife, but she doesn’t really understand anything. I like how different she is from her sister, and I think the whole ghost thing is pretty cool. One thing I wish Alyson would do is make Riley’s parents a part of the series.
Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer
These books have a huge influence over my life these past three years. I first got into them when my Girl Scout troop went to seeTwilight at the movies. Not long after that, I got the first book. Soon, I had the whole saga, all three of the DVDs, the Bree Tanner novella, the director’s notebook for the first movie, and all three of the movie companions. I also have thirteen Twilight posters, though I only have the posters because of Robert Pattinson. Last year I had a Twilight calendar.
I like these books because of the romance and the vampires. Although I’m pro-Twilight, I agree with anti-Twilighters on some things. The books are too long, and Renesmee shouldn’t even exist. But if you can get past the length (which is pretty hard to do, because Stephenie goes on and on about describing everyone’s movement!), it’s a pretty good story. Breaking Dawn is too long, in my opinion, and the whole Renesmee thing irritates me to no end. I feel Stephenie only shoved her in the book to give Jacob a soulmate. My fave book in the saga is Twilight, and my least fave is Breaking Dawn.
